Votsalaki Mykonos Boutique Resort - a nice getaway location in Mykonos

Welcome back to my blog guys.

It’s been a while since my last blog post. Due to the current situation with COVID 19, travelling is still challenging and the creative scene is still impacted negatively. During these times, I thought it would be nice to revisit the pictures I took last year on our trip to Mykonos. Also I wanted to share some insights with you on the property where we’re stayed at - the amazing Votsalaki Mykonos Boutique Resort.

A journey through magical Santorini together with Santorini Secret Suites & Spa

Hi guys,

it hasn’t been long since my last blog post.

On my last trip to Greece, I also made it to Santorini, which was on my bucket list for years. Within the last years, it became some sort of an Instagram hype which looks for his own kind. I wanted to find out if it’s up to the hype so let’s see what I’ve experienced in the following.

When arriving on this volcanic island, I was welcomed by breathtaking views right away, since the highest cliffs reach 1,200 feet above sea level. This was an awesome experience before even making my way to Oia, which many people identify as Greece’s prettiest village.

We were staying at the Santorini Secret Suites & Spa, which is part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group. We were welcomed very nicely and taken to our Suite, which offered a private terrace with an amazing view on the whole scenery.

Since the whole property is built into the slope, the views are amazing, it gets even more beautiful during the sunset.

Our suite offered an own whirlpool on the terrace which allowed us to enjoy the views even at night.

When in Oia, you of course want to stroll through the tiny streets of the village for which it’s famous for. The Santorini Secret Suites & Spa is perfectly located for doing so. Therefore, we could take a lot of great pictures during the best light conditions. Here comes only a small selection.

Santorini is especially famous for its sunsets- and I can tell you why: Every evening we got rewarded with an amazing play of colors. There are a few photo spots to enjoy the sunsets at its best.

We really enjoyed our stay in Oia to the fullest. The Santorini Secret Suites & Spa was the perfect base to explore Oia with being close to all the famous photo spots. The views from there were really magical as well and offered us a great retreat when not exploring the village.

If you have any questions related to the property or Santorini in general, feel free to reach to me at any time. Of course, they also have their own website and Instagram channel:

Cavo Tagoo Mykonos- more than the world-famous cave pool

A few days ago, we were able to spend a few days at the Cavo Tagoo Hotel in Mykonos, Greece. This hotel was on my bucket list for years after having seen so many gorgeous photos from there already.

I was super excited to spend some time in the world-famous cave pool, and of course also to explore the whole property with its unique architecture.

Exploring Kefalonia with the Canon EOS RP and RF 24-105mm f4

It’s been a while since my last blog post. Due to the current situation with COVID 19 I wasn’t able to travel for months as many other Content Creators. In mid August, we’re finally able to visit the beautiful island of Kefalonia, which is located in the Ionian sea in Greece.

After all these tough months I was so happy to arrive on this beautiful island which welcomed us with perfect weather. After picking up our rental car, we were all set to explore the beaches and little fishing villages for which the island is known for.

Exploring Berlin with Canon Deutschland

Thanks for coming back to my blog guys. A few weeks ago, Canon Deutschland was so kind to provide me with a Canon EOS 6D Mark II and a Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM for testing. My first impressions of the camera and lens are really positive, everything feels very valuable and solid. On top of that, I really like the practicability of the swiveling display on the back.

Setting up the camera at home was a breeze and getting familiar with its features and dials didn’t take long. I really couldn’t wait to try it out in the field.

Scarabeo Camp - A luxurious getaway into the Agafay desert close to Marrakech

Last week, my friend Maribel and I were able to experience a short getaway from the busy streets of Marrakech into the Agafay desert.

The Agafay desert is located 30 kilometres south of Marrakech, which makes it a convenient excursion if you don’t want to spend too many hours on the roads. The route heading towards the famous Atlas mountains already offers great views. But when we arrived at the Scarabeo Camp, which is a luxury camp in the middle of nowhere, we were mindblown.

Exploring Asian megacities with the TAMRON 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD

I’ve recently teamed up with TAMRON to use their 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD lens on my Sony A7. Due to its zoom functionality, this lens is immensely versatile while still offering a f2.8 aperture throughout the whole range. This is quite handy for lowlight photography as well as subject separation. On top of this, it’s built very compact and lightweight, which makes it fit nicely on the Sony mirrorless cameras. These features make it the perfect travel lens for almost any situation.
