A travel guide to Miami together with W South Beach

Hey guys, welcome back to another blog post.

Last month, I was finally able to visit Miami together with W South Beach. The city has been on my bucket list for years so I was really stoked to explore this tropical metropolis.

I’m a big fan of the W Hotels and i love their brand philosophy when it comes to combining luxury and lifestyle, while still being very trendy and attractive for the younger crowd. Therefore let me share some images of the W South Beach with you that will speak for themselves:

Having your hotel located very close to the world famous South Beach has been key to us. Not only is it really nice to be close to the beautiful beach, it’s also just a short walk away from the very picturesque Ocean Drive. This area has been in the spotlight in many movies and series already and Will Smith’s “Miami” song brought even more hype to it. The Ocean Drive area is also known as Art Déco destrict and let me tell you that it’s simply gorgeous.

Of course, Miami has even much more to offer. For us, especially the Art and Design destricts were very nice photo spots. It’s just a short Uber drive away from South Beach and definitely worth a visit. In the Design destrict you can also find very nice shops which are more on the luxurious side. This time, we were more interested in the modern architecture you can find overthere. Even the Zaha Hadid Architects are represented in this area with their gorgeous Elastika.

You can find more modern architecture in this area when you walk around. This area can easily be explored by foot.

The Art destrict is especially famous for all its streetart. The hotspot here is definitely the Wynwood Walls. This area is an open air street park and can be considered as the world’s biggest street art museum. In the streets around you can find even more beautiful street art like for example the following one.

Downtown itself is also a really nice area if you’re into architecture. Since we are big fans of the Zaha Hadid Architects, we of course also had to capture their newest building in town which is still under construction: the One Thousand Museum. The park full of palm trees next to it gives you the possibility to frame this really nicely. It creates the image of an urban jungle in the middle of Downtown Miami.

We stayed in the Downtown area until sunset and got rewarded with a very special and colourful one.

We couldn’t have asked for more. Afterwards we headed back to our beautiful oasis, the W South Beach, which was only an Uber call away. It gave us the perfect treatment after a full day of exploring Miami. I really enjoyed our stay to the fullest and can definitely recommend to stay in the W South Beach if you ever make it to Miami. Thanks to its location you can have a nice time at the beach, enjoying the tropical vibes while still being able to explore the city of Miami with all its architecture, street art and more.
