Exploring Kefalonia with the Canon EOS RP and RF 24-105mm f4

Welcome back to my blog guys.

It’s been a while since my last blog post. Due to the current situation with COVID 19, I wasn’t able to travel for months as many other Content Creators. In mid August, we’re finally able to visit the beautiful island of Kefalonia, which is located in the Ionian sea in Greece.

After all these tough months, I was so happy to arrive on this beautiful island, which welcomed us with perfect weather. After picking up our rental car, we were all set to explore the beaches and little fishing villages for which the island is known for.

I brought the Canon EOS RP, together with the RF 24-105mm f4 with me, to test it out in the field. And let me tell you, the results I got were really stunning.

Already on the first evening, I was able to capture this beautiful sunset on 105mm, while relaxing on Petani Beach.

The coastline of this island is really spectacular and there are a lot of viewing points to capture Kefalonia’s beauty while driving around the island. The most famous beach is called Myrtos Beach, which sometimes is even called Greece’s most beautiful beach. We made sure to catch the view on it during Golden Hour and we got lucky because the light conditions were amazing.

Another location that was on our list, is Assos. It’s a small fishing village in the Northwest of the island and famous for its beautiful coloured houses. It totally reminded me of the Amalfi coast. We hiked up the tiny paths of the village and again, got rewarded with beautiful views.

After leaving Assos right before sunset, we also stopped at another panoramic viewpoint which offers you another great view on Assos from above.

The light during Golden Hour was amazing every day, therefore we usually relaxed at the beaches during the day while making sure to be ready to shoot in the evenings. Petani Beach also offered some nice views when the sea was really rough and the golden light was hitting the waves.

The whole trip was really amazing and I can totally recommend to visit Kefalonia if you want to relax on the beaches, but also explore the island at the same time. The sceneries are simply amazing and offer great opportunities for photographers and travel enthusiasts in general.

I was happy to finally test out the Canon EOS RP, together with the RF 24-105mm f4 since it was my first trip since months. Thanks to its zoom, I was able to take a huge variety of pictures without having to change lenses. Usually I’m used to travel with heavy equipment, but this time it was nice to see that you can also travel light when relaxation is a thing too.

I’m currently working on the upcoming travel plans, and I also plan to return to Greece to explore even more of this beautiful country.

Talk to you soon!
